Problem :
Here, I work as a director and editor, accompanied by my friend as a videographer. On this project, only my friend and I worked on it, from pre-production to post-production. With a fairly long duration and a style that must look fun, I faced challenges in making it.
Solution :
On this project, as director and editor, I determined the visual style and the final look of the video. Although there were only two people on the project, it didn't hinder us.
I brainstormed a lot, sought references, and definitely had in-depth discussions with the client about what they were trying to achieve, their goals, and how we could further refine them.
With us already familiar with the production workflow, it felt easy to shoot in one day. It was tough for me because I was the one editing. But I had already prepared everything, such as music, assets, animation, and how I would edit it later.
Challenge :
This is my first time directing a commercial or promotional video, and editing it in this style. I was a little hesitant, but I finally managed to pull it off.
Summary :
"new canvas new story" is a promotional video in collaboration with the OSIS or student organization within the school to create a video that promotes each major at SMKN 6 Jakarta to attract the interest of students or children who want to choose a school to continue their education.
